About Kiryl Mikhalkevich

Born in Belarus in 1984, Kiryl Mikhalkevich emigrated to the U.S. in 2005, settled in San Diego, and later established Route 66 Moving and Storage. The company serves many communities throughout the area, from La Jolla to Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, San Marcos, Carmel Valley, Poway, and Rancho Santa Fe. It also services bigger moves and storage needs in Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

A talented and successful entrepreneur, Mikhalkevich has been involved in real estate development over the last ten years, building high-end custom homes in Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, and La Jolla.

In Belarus, Mikhalkevich attended and graduated from the Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk, where he was a gifted student. The university is renowned worldwide as a unique center of education, science, medicine, and pharmaceutical practice.

Kiryl Mikhalkevich named his moving and storage company after the iconic, historic, and one of the original U.S. highways—a homage to those who migrated West during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. More than 300,000 people migrated to California via Route 66 to escape poverty and agricultural disaster.

It’s fitting that Mikhalkevich, an immigrant who came to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream and ultimately fulfilled it through hard work, resilience, and an entrepreneurial spirit that continues to drive his business forward today, chose to name his company after Route 66.
